Day 2. This morning you can discover Amman by yourself. In the afternoon we drive to the Dead Sea to discover how it is to feel weightless in this salty sea. After some floating we’ll continue towards the Dana Nature Reserve, where you will stay in a simple but beautifully located Ecolodge in the old village. From here you have beautiful views over the valley, which has mountains of sandstone, about 800 different species of plants and 200 species of birds and different mammals.

Day 3. After breakfast we leave with a local guide for a first day on the Jordan Trail. Your luggage will be transferred to the places we stay the night, so you will only need to take a small backpack with the things you need for the day. From a hight of about 1200 meter above sea level we descend to about 200 meters. During this descend you will see different kinds of vegetation and bird species. The day ends in Wadi Al-Malqa, here the chef awaits you with a cup of sweet Bedouin tea. The camping gear, cookery, tents an mattresses and your luggage have also arrived. Tonight, along the campfire you’ll be surprised with a meal from the chef, under a sky with thousands of stars.

Day 4. After breakfast you will walk parallel along the mountains, from the Wadi Abu Sakakin campsite you will go up the mountain. On your right side you will see “the valley of the father of the knives” and walk along different teraasses, nabatean waterworks and you will go to Wadi Feinan, an area with lots of waterfalls, small puddles and impressive rockformations. If it has been raining in the winter you’ll find yourself in lush areas full of oleander flowers. Diner and overnight stay in tents in Ras al Feid.

Day 5. After breakfast from the chef, you will follow the trail to the south. There is not so much difference in heights but you’ll have a beautiful view over the lower located Wadi Araba desert. Along the day you will pass by the ruins of Quatla and a spring, that was used by the Nabateans. The end of the walk today will end in Beidha, Little Petra which was the depot of Petra. It has beautiful facades, little stairs and has one of the few remaining fresco’s that the Nabeateans left behind on which Cupido can be seen. The dinner and overnight stay will be in a Bedouin camp in Little Petra.

Day 6: Today you have a full day time to discover Petra, UNESCO world heritage and modern world wonder. After breakfast you will walk via the ‘backdoor’ into Petra. This beautiful walk brings you to the Monastery, Petra’s biggest monument. From here you walk down about 800 steps to the Roman Theater. Following the ancient Roman Path you will pass by the Royal Tombs, make an optional detour via the High place of Sacrifice and end at the Treasury, Petra’s most famous monument. Your luggage has been transported to the 3* hotel where you will sleep tonight.

Day 7: After breakfast we drive via a beautiful route to the Wadi Rum desert. Here you a local Bedouin will take you with his jeep for a 3 hour tour along the most impressive places of the desert. Think about rock bridges, high red sand dunes and inscriptions. On the way you’ll stop in the middle of the desert, where lunch is prepared. Overnight stay in a comfortable Bedouin Camp, including dinner and breakfast.

Day 8: In the morning you drive in about an hour from the desert to the coastal city of Aqaba at the Red Sea. Aqaba is a cozy town where you can swim, snorkel, dive, shop or have a nice dinner in one of the restaurants. You will stay the night in a comfortable 3* hotel, located in the city center.
