jolindaJolinda: About 7 years ago I moved to Jordan to work in tourism. A few years ago I quit my job, to completely focus on my big passions: Yoga, photography and traveling. I founded flow-spirit. For me, my passions really complement each other with mindfulness as a red line. Working with people is very important to me, it gives me the possibility to contribute on the well-being of both body and mind. In Jordan I teach weekly yoga and meditation (Vipassana) lessons, coaching sessions, therapeutic massages and Reiki treatments. Several times throughout the year I guide several holidays in mostly Asia and Jordan.

jolandaJolanda: During this trip, to loves are combined into one experience. As a mindfulness, meditation trainer and tour leader I have practiced meditation and mindfulness for many years and deducted several workshops and trainings- in this area. My teacher training was done at Bridgeman. A down to earth organization, who researched mindfulness as a source and combined this with modern neurological science. My motivation is to pass on that what I’ve learned throughout the years: to help others make the best version of themselves.

Detailed day to day itinerary 

Day 1 (L/B)
Arrival in Aqaba and meet & greet with the group. From Aqaba Airport you are transferred to the 5* Radisson Blu in Tala Bay. Tala bay is located on about a 20 km from the cozy city of Aqaba; Jordan’s coastal city. It’s an ideal location for a first introduction to the Middle East. In Aqaba you can stroll around, visit the local market, sit down at one of the restaurants and enjoy delicious Arabic cuisine. From the hotel in Tala Bay there’s a shuttle bus which you can take to go up and down the town.

Day 2 (L/B)
Start and explanation of the program. After the explanation of the program we start with a yoga class. The day we will be finished with a sunset mindfulness and meditation session. The rest of the day you are free to relax at the beach, the swimming pool or explore the environment.

Day 3 (L/B)
Morning: sunrise yoga and mindfulness meditation class. If you want, you can go dive or take a snorkel cruise. If you love to swim, snorkel or dive you can eat your heart out in Aqaba. With many colored fishes, many corals and a great water temperature all year around this is one of the greatest underwater gardens of the world.

Day 4 (L/B)
Today you have the time to visit Petra. In the evening there is a yoga and meditation class.

Petra
Its also called the Rose Red city of the Nabateans. Especially when the sun goes down, the rocks get a dark red color. The Nabateans were nomads, who became prosperous by trading in spices and incense.

Today Petra is UNESCO world heritage site and more than 2000 years old. To get to the treasury, you need to walk for about a kilometer through the Siq, an immense valley. At the end of this beautiful walk you’ll find the Treasury, the most known monument of Petra. You can also find a Roman Theater, Royal Tombs, a Roman colonnaded street and Byzantine churches. Real hikers can decide to walk up to the Monastery. 

Day 5 (L/B/D)

Today we drive in about an hour from the Red Sea to the beautiful Red desert: the Wadi Rum. We leave after checking out at the hotel at 12.00. With a view over a huge valley you will practice a yoga sunset session. In the evening there will be a meditation and mindfulness class which we will close with a walk in the silence and underneath a blanket of stars. We stay the night in the Rahayeb Eco camp, surrounded with beautiful mountains and hills. From here you have a good view over the rest of the desert. We stay in Bedouin tents with a shared bathroom. A private bathroom is possible and is one of the extra’s you can book.

Wadi Rum:
Wadi Rum is also known as the “moon valley desert”. It’s one of the most beautiful deserts of the world, with spectacular rock formations, red sand dunes, old Nabatean inscriptions and beautiful valleys. The silence and emptiness of this desert add an extra dimension to the yoga and mindfulness exercises.

Day 6(L/B/D)
We start the day with a yoga session. After this we have a full day to explore Wadi Rum. You can do this by jeep, by camel or by foot. Or you can simply stay in the camp to read, meditation or anything that your heart tells you to. On the end of the day we have a sunset yoga session and in the evening there will be a mindfulness meditation class.

Day 7 (L/B)
This morning we willl have a yoga and hiking meditation. After breakfast we drive back to Aqaba. The mindfulness meditation class will be on the beach during sunset.

Dag 8 (L/B)
Today is our last full day. In the morning we have a yoga class and the evening we will close the week with a mindful and meditation class. We will also reflect and look back on the previous week, discuss experiences and look into how to incorporate the tools you received in your daily life.

 Day  9 (L/B) Depending on your flight schedule you can enjoy the beach and Red Sea before you leave.
